Autosense Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Autosense ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit our marketing website located at autosense.app and when you use the Autosense mobile applications (the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
Scope
This Policy applies to both: (a) our public marketing site (including waitlist forms and contact inquiries) and (b) our mobile applications that connect to your vehicle, decode VINs, and provide concierge and diagnostic features. Additional notices may apply to specific features; those notices control where they conflict with this Policy.
Information We Collect
Contact and account data
Names, email addresses, authentication details, and communications you send to us, including waitlist submissions and support inquiries.
Vehicle and diagnostic data
VINs, decoded equipment details, recalls, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), readiness monitors, telemetry, adapter and Bluetooth connection status, and vehicle health metrics generated through the mobile apps.
Assistant interactions
Prompts, chat history, and contextual data you provide to the Autosense concierge so we can generate responses and maintain conversation history.
Device and usage data
Device identifiers, OS and app version, IP address, browser type, referral source, feature engagement, crash and performance data, and limited location signals where enabled for diagnostics.
Payment and transaction data
If you make purchases, we receive payment confirmations and transaction metadata from our payment processor; card details are handled by the processor and not stored by us.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar tools on the marketing site for basic site functionality, form handling, and analytics. You can adjust browser settings to limit these technologies.
How We Use Information
- Provide and improve the Services, including VIN decoding, diagnostics, telemetry, and the concierge experience.
- Respond to inquiries, provide support, and communicate about updates or offers.
- Process transactions, prevent fraud, and maintain the security and integrity of the Services.
- Develop new features, conduct analytics, and understand usage to enhance performance and reliability.
- Comply with applicable law, enforce agreements, and protect our users, the public, and Autosense.
How We Share Information
- Service providers: cloud infrastructure, databases, analytics, communications, and customer support vendors that process data on our behalf.
- AI processing: we send chat prompts and relevant context to model providers such as OpenAI solely to generate responses.
- Storage and workflow: data submitted through the apps and marketing site is stored in our managed databases (e.g., Postgres/Supabase) and connected systems used to deliver the Services.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, and detect or prevent fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may anonymize data for analytics and product improvement when feasible. If you request deletion, we will remove or de-identify information as required by law and our retention policies.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access, update, or delete certain account and vehicle data within the apps or by contacting us at support@getautosense.com.
- Opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe links or contacting us.
- Control device permissions (Bluetooth, location, notifications) through your device settings.
- For California residents: you may request to know, access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may request that we limit use of sensitive personal information to the extent applicable. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. To exercise rights, contact us using the email above.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or other appropriate means.
